Classical style yoga studio, located on Poinciana Avenue.

Offering weekly yoga & Meditation classes for all levels.

All classes are taught in a traditional hatha yoga approach combining relaxation, breath work (pranayama), postures (asana), and meditation.

Beginner Level moves slowly learning correct postural alignment of the poses and simple breathing techniques, it is open to all students.

Regular Level is for those who wish to progress further into the practice working step by step to move into some stronger poses and more complex breathing techniques using bandhas and mudras (locks and seals) to cleanse the body and create more energy whilst stilling the mind. It is also open to all students.

Advanced Level is for those who have a regular yoga practice and wish to learn some of the more advanced yoga postures and pranayams. We will practice in a more dynamic fashion, hold inverted poses longer and develop stronger pranayamas with longer holding of the breath.

Each class closes with a deep relaxation and a short, guided meditation practice.

About the Teacher

Emily Curtis is a dedicated teacher trained in an authentic tradition of Hatha and Raja yoga by her teacher Acharya Upendra Roy, in Sydney. With over 25 years experiences in Yoga, she has been practicing daily since 1998 and began teaching in 2002. Her passion for yoga took her to India six times where she spent extended periods studying yoga and yogic philosophy with various senior teachers in the Iyengar Tradition and the Sivananda Tradition.

In 2012 Emily published a book which is a collection of Acharyas teachings and notes of his life titled ‘The Teachings on Hatha and Raja Yoga of Acharya Upendra Roy’.

Most recently Emily began to combine her love of travelling with her love of teaching yoga and has run various retreats and workshops in New South Wales, Queensland, North India, South Portugual and across France. She has also taught with the Byron School of Yoga in Sydney, Yoga in Daily Life in Sydney and at Acharyas Yoga and Meditation Center, Sydney’s longest established yoga school (1969 – 2017).

Emily personalises her classes to the students needs teaching a wholistic approach to yoga using Pranayama, Asana, Relaxation and Meditation which aim to offer the student an experience of true peace which they can carry with them into their everyday life.

Emily is a full member of the International Yoga Teachers Association completing over 800hrs of teacher training.
